Hungary and Slovakia Will Retaliate if Ukraine Doesn’t Let the Oil Flow

In retaliation for the diplomatic activity by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico overt opposition to supporting the war in Ukraine, the Kyiv regime has shut down the Lukoil pipeline which provides oil from Russia to these EU/NATO countries that border Ukraine. The formal measure was to place Lukoil on the sanctions list. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Hungary intends to block the payment of compensation for the transportation of weapons from the European Peace Fund to the tune of $16.6 million until Ukraine resolves the issue with Lukoil. Slovakia is in a similar situation. Prime Minister Robert Fico said that Slovakia will not become “a hostage to the Russia-Ukraine crisis.”
