Hungary Looks To ‘De-escalate’ Tensions on EU-China Trade

Hungary will seek trade peace between China and the European Union during its European Union Presidency. “As the EU, we must do our utmost to de-escalate current tensions with our main trading partners,” Ambassador to the EU Bálint Ódor told Euractiv in an interview published yesterday. “We should seek to maintain and strengthen cooperation with as many countries and market players around the world as possible,” he added.

Ódor stressed that Hungary, as a major supplier to the German automobile industry and to some important Chinese battery manufacturers, “exemplifies successful cooperation” between the two regional groupings.
