Iran Ready To Resume JCPOA According to President's Office

Mohammad Javad Zarif, Iran’s former Foreign Minister and currently head of the consultative committee on the establishment of Iranian President Pezeshkian’s government, has announced that the new President is ready to restore the JCPOA in order to lift sanctions on Iran. “Our new government, led by President-elect Pezeshkian, is ready to engage in a dialogue in the spirit of goodwill—in accordance with the JCPOA and the Iranian law—to ensure the mutual compliance of this unique diplomatic achievement,” he said on his X page, according to TASS.

The Trump Administration withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018 and reimposed sanctions on Iran, allegedly in response to Iran’s not following through on the original agreement. In response, Iran pulled out of its obligations under the agreement.
