Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote Charles Michel, the president of the European Council, a summary of his recent peace mission to Ukraine, Russia, China, and the U.S. As reported by German tabloid Bild, he warned that “the intensity of the military conflict will radically intensify in the near future,” so he included “some suggestions for consideration”—in particular that the EU talk with China about a “peace conference.” Further, diplomatic relations with Russia should be re-established.

He suggested that President Biden is “not in a position to change the current [U.S.] pro-war policy.” However, if former President Trump is re-elected, he will “immediately be ready to act as a peace mediator.” Trump also “has detailed and well-founded plans” for ending the conflict.
