What a surprise: The Biden campaign admitted that it provides pre-packaged questions to journalists who will interview Joe Biden. This new scandal has been thrown into the mix by those who are trying to dislodge Biden from the candidacy. CNN reported on July 6 that two radio show hosts who just interviewed Biden had been fed “eerily similar” questions beforehand by the Biden campaign, according to today’s Washington Post. CNN host Victor Blackwell asked Andrea Lawful-Sanders of WURD in Philadelphia: “Were those questions given to you by the White House, or the campaign, or did you have to submit questions ahead of this interview?” To which she answered: “The questions were sent to me for approval. I approved of them.”
Same thing with Earl Ingram, a radio show host in Wisconsin who also interviewed Biden. “Yes, I was given some questions for Biden,” Ingram told CNN’s Blackwell, adding that he was given five questions and asked Biden four of them.
The appropriately-named Biden campaign spokeswoman Lauren Hitt was unapologetic: “It’s not at all an uncommon practice for interviewees to share topics they would prefer.… We do not condition interviews on acceptance of these questions, and hosts are always free to ask the questions they think will best inform their listeners,” she said reassuringly.
