President Joe Biden and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol reaffirmed, yesterday, the U.S.-ROK Washington Declaration in April 2023 and the Nuclear Consultation Group that it established. Over at the Pentagon, US and South Korean defense officials signed the “United States and Republic of Korea Guidelines for Nuclear Deterrence and Nuclear Operations on the Korean Peninsula,” which “provide principles and procedures to assist Alliance policy and military authorities in maintaining an effective nuclear deterrence policy and posture.”
