China’s Wang Wen on Japan's New Defense Doctrine: Without Vision

Wang Wen, the Executive Dean of the Chongyang Institute of Financial Studies at China’s Renmin University and a collaborator with Russian economists, provided an interview to RT on the new Japan Defense Policy released in a Defense White Paper on July 13. The policy essentially adopts the U.S./NATO doctrine of declaring China and Russia as threats to be countered.

Wang Wen accused Japan of submitting to U.S. dictates, while saying that the U.S. accusations against China and Russia are lies. He added that the U.S. knows it is lying, while covering itself by the claim that it is the defender of peace. While the world no longer depends on the U.S., Japan lacks its own vision and instead adopts the U.S. outlook, he said.
