According to a report in the New York Times on Aug. 16, Donald Trump recently met with former Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard at his Mar-a-Lago home in Florida. The meeting was ostensibly around “debate prep” for Trump’s upcoming debate with Kamala Harris on September 10.
In an email exchange with the Times, Trump spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt confirmed the discussion with Gabbard. Leavitt said the former President has “proven to be one of the best debaters in political history as evidenced by his knockout blow to Joe Biden. He does not need traditional debate prep but will continue to meet with respected policy advisers and effective communicators like Tulsi Gabbard, who successfully dominated Kamala Harris on the debate stage in 2020.”
Gabbard has been one of the more outspoken voices against the current drive for war with Russia and the policy of endless “regime change war” in the Middle East. However, she has been reluctant to condemn Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu for Israel’s current genocide in Palestine.
