Gen. Michael Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command, was in Israel yesterday, where he had separate meetings with both IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. The IDF said the meeting with Halevi focused on “security-strategic issues and joint assessments in the region, as part of the response to threats in the Middle East,” reported the Times of Israel .
In the meeting with Gallant, which also included Halevi, the three discussed “the coordination of defense cooperation between the respective establishments and militaries,” the Defense Ministry said. “They also discussed ways to expand the international coalition facing aggressive activities by Iran and its proxies against Israel, and destabilizing the Middle East region.”
