Zelenskyy Says Kursk Incursion To ‘Restore Justice’ and Pressure Moscow's Forces

Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelenskyy is now speaking about the military invasion of Russia’s Kursk Region, after having kept silent for the first three days or so. He claimed on Saturday night, Aug. 10, that Ukraine had launched an incursion into Russian territory to “restore justice” and pressure Moscow’s forces, reported Reuters. “Today, I received several reports from Commander-in-Chief Syrskyi regarding the front lines and our actions to push the war onto the aggressor’s territory,” he said in his nightly video address. “Ukraine is proving that it can indeed restore justice and is ensuring the exact kind of pressure that is needed—pressure on the aggressor.”

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova vowed that the Russian armed forces will retaliate against the regime in Kiev for its barbaric attacks on the western Russian regions. “We strongly condemn these barbaric terror acts.... We have no doubt that the organizers and perpetrators of these crimes as well as their foreign sponsors will be held accountable. A harsh response from the Russian armed forces will not take long,” she said yesterday, reported Sputnik.
