Ukraine is exhibiting its own impotence in making ridiculous demands on other countries. President Vladimir Putin is scheduled to visit Mongolia on September 3. Mongolia recognizes the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court and, theoretically would have the right and obligation to arrest him, given that the ICC has accused Putin of being a war criminal.
In spite of Zelenskyy’s insistence that Mongolia must arrest Putin, Kremlin Press Secretary Dmitry Peshkov has assured the press that Putin would be safe. Mongolia is not the only country that may view Putin’s role in moving orphans out of active war zones not worthy of his being declared a war criminal.
