Earthquake in Wolfsburg: VW Factory Closings Coming

The second earthquake shaking Germany after the vote in Thuringia and Saxony is Volkswagen’s announcement that there might be layoffs and factory closings in Germany. The liberal-consevative online magazine Tichys Einblick reminds its readers that “No VW plant has ever been closed in Germany.”

The Sept. 2 announcement signals the advanced destruction of the German (and European) car industry through the sanctions and Green Deal policies by the European Union.

Thanks to energy costs and insane investments in E-mobility, Volkswagen has a hole of €5 billion.
