Israeli Official: Nasrallah Had To Die Because He Refused To Sell Out Gaza

The assassination of Hezbollah’s longtime leader Hassan Nasrallah wasn’t self-defense, as the dementia-addled Joe Biden yesterday claimed. An unnamed Israeli official explained to NBC News yesterday that the reason Israel killed Nasrallah was because he insisted, repeatedly, on tying Hezbollah’s conflict with Israel to peace in Gaza. “What we found after over 11 months is that Nasrallah is persistent in tying himself—and the hijacked Lebanese state that he took over—to whatever’s going on in Gaza,” the official said. “He declined every diplomatic effort. He declined messages to stop connecting himself to Gaza. And he continued to fire at Israel, and in the past few weeks or months, even expanded the range and velocity of attacks against Israel.

“This led us to understand that he cannot be part of the game anymore. And what we did is to conduct a very precise, intelligence-based strike against the headquarters of Hezbollah in Beirut, to make sure that Nasrallah cannot be a decision maker anymore in the region.”

Commented French-born entrepreneur Arnaud Bertrand: “This might sound like nothing but this is one of the most extraordinary revealing things Israel has said. In the words of Israeli officials themselves Nasrallah literally died because he refused a side deal that abandoned the Palestinians. In effect this man labelled ‘terrorist’ died because he refused to yield on what all UN resolutions and the immense majority of the international community have been calling for ceaselessly. Except he, unlike those others, had teeth.

“So, unlike what so many people are saying, the real reason for his death isn’t because ‘Hezbollah are terrorists and they’re bad’ but so Israel can pursue its land grab and ethnic cleansing unimpeded. He was one of the only ones actually willing to make them face accountability for it and, in their own words, that’s why he had to die.”
