Italy’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antoni Tajani reiterated in an interview with Corriere della Sera, published on Sept. 16, that Rome will not lift its restrictions on Ukraine to use Italian-supplied long-range missiles on targets deep inside Russia. In the Foreign Ministry’s English translation of the interview, Tajani replied to questions about British Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s arrival in Rome that day: “On long-range missiles for Ukraine to strike Russian territory, London seems close to giving the green light. … What will Italy’s position be?”
