In 2021 Pakistan went for 12 months without a single reported case of polio anywhere in the country. Health officials from across the world held their breath in anticipation of declaring victory in Pakistan, but now there is a resurgence even in areas where polio has not been seen for 16 years. No longer isolated to remote rural areas in the rugged terrain of northwest Pakistan, this month the polio virus has been detected in the sewage of many of the largest cities in Pakistan, according to the New York Times. A similar polio resurgence is also being reported in seven other countries. The World Health Organization also reported that cholera deaths are up globally by 71% which all points to what Lyndon LaRouche warned of as a “biological holocaust,” where war and poor conditions can impose biological and physical entropy on the world.
On Sept. 9 Pakistan launched what is believed to be currently the largest health mobilization in the world, as 286,000 health workers have been sent out to vaccinate 30 million children under the age of 5. This multibillion-dollar effort is targeting 115 of the 165 local districts in Pakistan where polio may be present.
