On 2nd Anniversary of Nord Stream Destruction, Russians Report That Anglo-Americans Did It

Russia’s foreign intelligence service (SVR) released an assessment today, on the 2nd anniversary of the Sept. 26, 2022 sabotage of the Nord Stream pipelines. As reported by RT, the SVR blames the U.K. and the U.S., claiming that the intelligence “definitively points to the pipeline attack being an act of international terrorism and an act of economic war against European allies, primarily the Federal Republic of Germany.” Further, they claim that both London and Washington have ramped up their campaign to “remove the issue of the Nord Stream sabotage from international agenda,” especially since last month.

Their report states: “Media answering to Washington and London are promoting the narrative that the attack was conducted exclusively by Ukrainian extremists, who acted independently.” However, while this scenario “does not hold water,” it is being pushed upon German investigators, with the idea that they are to “wrap up the probe before the year ends.” It claims that Berlin has been issued with an ultimatum to “deflect a blow to trans-Atlantic cooperation” by foisting the blame on “Russia-hating Ukrainian desperados.”
