Saturday night, Sep. 7, marked the largest ever protest recorded in Israeli history—not just since Oct.7, but ever. Organizers of the event claimed there were 500,000 at the main event in Tel Aviv, and another 250,000 at other events across the country. The rally was a combined effort between the Hostage Families Forum and the anti-government protests which oppose Prime Minister Netanyahu and have been calling for new elections. This was the first time the two groups combined together, and represents growing frustration within Israeli society to the policies of war and destruction being waged by the Netanyahu government.
