The national election in Austria on Sept. 29 may see the Freedom Party (FPÖ) as winner, as indicated by the latest opinion polls which give the party 28%. The Christian-conservative People’s Party (ÖVP) is seen at 24%, followed by the Social Democrats (SPÖ) with 21%. The neo-liberal Neos are given 10%, the Greens 8%. The losses of the Greens are particularly interesting, as the party reached 14% in the 2019 election.
