Ukrainian drones hit two Russian arms depots, overnight, one in the Krasnodar region and another one in the Tver region. The strikes came as part of a wave of drone attacks during which the Russian Defense Ministry said air defenses shot down 101 drones.
In the Krasnodar region, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said that 1,200 people had been evacuated from the Tikhoretsk and Vyselki districts, about 130 km northeast of the regional capital of Krasnodar. Agence France-Presse noted that there are unverified claims circulating that the Tikhoretsk depot may have housed North Korean missiles. Also hit was the 23rd arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate near the village of Oktyabrsky, about 15 km south of the arms depot in Toropets, which was hit in the early morning of Sept. 18.
“The recent raids by Ukrainian formations clearly demonstrate that, in addition to the already familiar targets of fuel and energy infrastructure and airfields, large ammunition depots have become one of the targets of the attacks,” commented the Two Majors Telegram channel. “And given the high production volumes of enemy drones, which fully cover the consumption of devices during previous attacks, such raids are likely to intensify.”
