Poland’s UN mission has posted a statement from 34 nations that help fund the United Nations Interim Force In Lebanon (UNIFIL), condemning Israel’s recent attacks on the UN forces and locations, but without mentioning Israel by name!

The countries “reaffirm our full support for UNIFIL’s mission and activities,” in the statement “initiated by Poland.” “We consider UNIFIL’s role as particularly crucial in light of the escalating situation in the region. We therefore strongly condemn recent attacks on the UNIFIL peacekeepers. Such actions must stop immediately and should be adequately investigated.”

Without specifying who conducted these recent attacks (how rarely is Israel the subject of sentences involving its attacks on others), they “urge the parties of the conflict” to guarantee safety of UN forces.
