Warmonger Applebaum Gets German ‘Peace’ Award

U.S.-Polish author of anti-Russian books, Anne Applebaum, has received the “Peace Prize of the German Book Trade” in the context of the Oct. 16-20 Frankfurt Book Fair. The prize committee apparently believes that her warnings against Putin as the new Stalin were on the mark already years ago. Applebaum’s latest book, Autocracy, Inc: The Dictators Who Want To Run the World, does not diverge from that line, but insists that the Putin problem has spread to other countries, too. “Peace” evidently is now an Orwellian fake.

Of some note, Applebaum’s Oct. 18 column The Atlantic provided another example of her peaceful polemics. Entitled “Trump Is Speaking Like Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini,” it provoked a host of protests. Journalist Mike Benz properly remarked, “Anne Applebaum is on the board of directors for the most notorious CIA cut-out in U.S. history.”

However, Applebaum may only be trying to keep up the man sitting next to her at the award ceremony, her husband Radoslaw Sikorski, who has been Poland’s Foreign Minister since 2023, and as he had been also in 2007-2014. He authored that infamous tweet just after the Sept. 26, 2022 destruction of the German-Russian Nord Stream gas pipeline, posting a photo of the explosion and applauding it with his gratitude: “Thank You, USA.”
