In an article in the mainstream Argentine daily Tiempo Argentino, Argentine strategic analyst Rubén Guzzetti, who is an active participant in the International Peace Coalition’s weekly meetings, reviewed the issues that will be facing the Kazan, Russia summit of the BRICS, “with the presence of around 26 heads of state and the participation of delegations from 60 countries.”
“It will undoubtedly be a meeting that will make history,” Guzzetti wrote, “taking place at a time when the debacle of the capitalist system in its predominantly financial stage—characterized by a globalization imposed at missile point, the proliferation of humanitarian and climate disasters, ethnic cleansing, genocides—is prevailing.” He added, we are witnessing “the emergence of governments with fascist and neo-fascist tendencies and the stubbornness of the unipolar bloc to sustain an anachronistic hegemony that is dragging humanity to its possible extinction.”
