Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko, while at the BRICS summit in Kazan, Russia, wasn’t bashful when asked by VGTRK journalist Olga Skabeeva about the election campaign in the United States: “This is a terrible, stupid election…. If it were us or Russia, neither of these idiots would be elected. It’s terrible! One is incompetent, and the other is blathering about devil knows what.”
He explained that both campaigns had wasted billions of dollars without producing a coherent program. Yet he did hold out the possibility that the blathering might give way to something better: “They are all idiots…. I know what will happen if Harris stays. If Trump comes along ... well, I assume nothing good will happen, but there is still some hope.”
