The Times of London reports today that “More than 100 current and former Labour Party staff members are going to marginal states in the U.S. to campaign for the Democrats, in a move which has led to a backlash from Republicans. The Labour staffers will go to Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Virginia to campaign for Kamala Harris. The four states are critical to Harris’s hopes of winning the election.”
The paper quotes several Republicans screaming bloody murder about this bloody awful colonialist effort by the British Empire. At best, it can be described as part of the panicked effort to stop Trump’s declared dislike of NATO and NATO’s war on Russia. More accurately, it is a declaration of British control over U.S. foreign policy.
Elon Musk declared the move is “illegal,” but The Times claims that the Federal Election Commission allows foreigners to campaign as long as they are “uncompensated.” Sofia Patel, Labour’s head of operations, said in a LinkedIn post on Oct. 16 that “I have ten spots available for anyone available to head to the battleground state of [North] Carolina—we will sort your housing.”
