Christopher Steele Back Again with Moscow’s Schemes To Elect Trump

Christopher Steele, former British MI6 spy who rose to head the British Intelligence Service’s “Russia Desk,” and author of the thoroughly discredited “Steele Dossier,” may have out-done himself with a new book titled Unredacted: Russia, Trump, and the Fight for Democracy. Steele calls it “opposition research,” but, while there is plenty of opposition, there is almost no research. Even the Washington Post doubts that anyone will believe his new “narrative,” since he was so discredited in 2016 over his dossier on Russian interference in that year’s U.S. elections.

Steele’s new story line, according to Ticklethewire is that, in 2020, Russian military intelligence plotted to kidnap American citizens in Syria or Iraq, then allow Trump to successfully negotiate the release of these Americans, thus giving a boost to Trump’s re-election chances. This would also show that having good relations with Russia would be a strategic advantage to America. Steele includes documents produced by his own research firm, Orbis Business Intelligence, indicating that the entire kidnapping plan was developed at a secret meeting of a small group within Russia’s GRU headquarters. Steele claims that a senior Russian intelligence officer confirmed the entire story to him. Assumedly, this Russian source is much better than the ones he’s been using in the past.
