CNN proclaims to have discovered a massive Russian disinformation project to interfere with the U.S. election. CNN published yesterday their claim that popular U.S. speakers are taking Moscow-generated narratives and amplifying them to undermine the election. The Russian-based network, dubbed “Storm-1516,” is described as an offshoot of the 2016 Russian trolling operation and is targeting the Harris/Walz ticket.
CNN named Tara Reade as one of the operatives. Her lawyer Jonathan Levy received a phone call and was sent an email from CNN producer Tim Lister that asked for Reade’s response “to reports that you have repeated and amplified Russian disinformation about Ukraine and the U.S. election?” However, instead of asking questions, Reade said on Oct. 30 that CNN posed “more of a series of accusations…. The accusations are that I’m somehow involved, Donald Trump is involved, with interfering into the elections and presenting disinformation,” reported to RT.
“It really shows desperation. They are clinging to the Hillary 2.0 argument that Russia interfered [in the 2016 election]…. I do not think that Moscow has any interest in interfering, nor need. The Democratic elites, the ones that are losing power right now, are getting a bit desperate.” She claimed that “the only people that are interfering with the election are coming from inside the election.”
