Russia’s Federation Council Speaker Sen. Valentina Matviyenko, considered one of the most powerful political figures in Russia today, wrote in her Telegram channel on Oct. 19 that the upcoming BRICS summit—and not the U.S. presidential election—will play the greatest role in shaping the further course of history. Matviyenko wrote, according to a report in TASS:
