If Ukraine Attacks Belarus, Lukashenko Could Ask Russia for Nuclear Response, Medvedev Says

A member of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, Oleg Dunda, said that Ukraine should expand military action to Belarus, which would be “a blow to the gut” of Moscow. Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, responded, saying that if military actions were transferred to Belarus, Belarus President Lukashenko “will have every reason” to ask Russia to use tactical nuclear weapons in response. In his own statements earlier, Lukashenko had said that an attack on Belarus would lead to a nuclear response and World War III.
