Imran Khan Cites Nasrallah, Haniyeh Martyrdom To Mobilize Pakistanis

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, imprisoned on what are widely viewed as trumped-up charges, cited the martyrdom of Hezbollah leader Syed Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh as a demonstration of the kind patriotism that should inspire Pakistanis to struggle against injustices taking place inside Pakistan. He also cited Tipu Sultan, an 18th-century leader in southern India, who was famous for his relentless fighting against the British East India Company.

Posting yesterday on X, Khan stated in part: “God created man free. There is a famous quote by Rumi: ‘When God has given you wings, why do you crawl like insects?’”

Khan identified those oppressing Pakistan as the “Gang of Three”—Pakistan’s Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, Chief Election Commissioner Raja Sikandar Sultan, and Pakistan’s Army Chief—along with the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
