Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian traveled to Doha, Qatar last week for a summit of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue (ACD), where a flurry of diplomatic activity has taken place among leading Arab and Muslim nations. Among other meetings, Pezeshkian met with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Oct. 3 where he made clear his country is ready for a new relationship.

“We consider Islamic countries, including Saudi Arabia, as our brothers, and we emphasize the importance of setting aside differences to enhance cooperation,” Pezeshkian said, according to Middle East Eye.

The President also said of Saudi Arabia: “We will eventually reach a point where we have a common language and vision with neighboring countries and can lead the world with one voice [toward] where we want to go and make Israel stop its crimes and massacres. I hope we can lead the region to peace and security and achieve harmony, compassion, and unity among Islamic countries.”
