Iranian Foreign Minister Visits Bahrain and Kuwait

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has continued his regional diplomacy, going to Bahrain yesterday and then Kuwait this morning, Oct. 22. In Kuwait, Araghchi told a press conference that all neighboring states have assured Tehran that they will not allow Israel to use their territory to launch a retaliatory strike against Iran. “All our neighbors have assured us that they will not permit the use of their territory and airspace against the Islamic Republic of Iran,” Araghchi said in a statement broadcast by IRIB TV, reported TASS.

In response to a question about Israel’s threats to strike Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, Araghchi stressed that “there is no crime left that the Zionist regime has not committed.” He said that all Middle Eastern nations oppose any attack on the Islamic Republic by Israel, as well as any strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, which is considered a crime under international law. “Unfortunately, all these crimes continue with the support of the U.S. and some European states,” Araghchi remarked.

In Bahrain, which is home to the U.S. 5th Fleet headquarters, Araghchi met with his counterpart, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and the King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. Araghchi and the King weighed plans for collective cooperation to ensure peace in the region and prevent a spread of clashes amid the Israeli regime’s onslaught on Gaza and Lebanon, reported Tasnim. Pointing to his broad consultations with regional countries during the past weeks, Araghchi called for the mobilization of capacities of the Islamic countries to stop the Israeli regime’s genocidal crimes in Gaza and Lebanon.
