Ireland’s Taoiseach Simon Harris on Oct. 12 demanded that the Israel Defense Forces stop firing on United Nations peacemakers in southern Lebanon. There are 347 Irish soldiers in the 10,000-man UNIFIL force, according to a Times of Israel report of the attacks. “Israel must stop firing on UN peacekeepers serving with UNIFIL in Lebanon,” said the Irish Prime Minister said in a statement. “Israel must listen to the voice and the concerns of the international community.”
