On Sunday morning, Oct. 27, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke at a state ceremony in a public address, and confirmed that in the early hours of Saturday morning, the IDF “hit areas in Iran, severely harming its defense capabilities and its ability to produce missiles that would be launched at us” and that “the attack on Iran was precise and powerful” and “achieved all its objectives,” according to the Jerusalem Post.
These were his first public comments on the attack and placed it in the context of the “Swords of Iron War.” On Saturday, the IDF decided to attack “the head of the octopus,” and Netanyahu intoned, “Those who strike us, we will strike. This is a tenet that has accompanied us all this time and will accompany us going forward.”
An unidentified IDF official in a video posted by Bloomberg also warned that the IDF actions are now concluded, and that if Iran chooses to retaliate, it will “pay a very heavy price.…”
