Russian Gas Exports to EU Increasing, in Spite of the Sanctions

Russia’s pipeline gas exports to Europe (EU countries and Moldova) increased by 17% year-on-year, up to 23.7 billion cubic meters (bcm) in the period of January-September this year. This is according to Vedomosti’s calculations, based on data from Gazprom and the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Gas (ENTSOG). This happened even though, officially, there are EU sanctions against Russian natural gas imports.
