Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin flew to Iran Sept. 30 to meet with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, where they worked to bring to a more finished form, the 30-year deal, first signed in June, between the National Iranian Gas Co. (NIGC) and Gazprom, which will bring Russian gas to Iran as part of a swap deal. Iran and Russia also have a strategic relationship. Likely, they covered strategic matters now unfolding in Southwest Asia.
