The Israeli assassination of Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on Sept. 27 was carried out with U.S.-supplied munitions, in particular, the U.S.-made BLU-109s and JDAM guidance kits, otherwise known as bunker buster bombs that can blast through hardened targets and underground bunkers. The BLU-109 can penetrate up to 6 meters of reinforced concrete and 30 meters of earth.

CNN reported in a Sept. 30 article, that “American-manufactured 2,000-pound bombs were likely used in the Israeli attack that killed Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, in Beirut on Friday night [Sept. 27], according to a review of footage showing the operation and its aftermath by CNN and munitions experts.”

It continued: “A video published by the Israeli military on Saturday showed jets it said were used to carry out the attack carrying at least fifteen 2,000-pound bombs, including the U.S.-made BLU-109, according to Trevor Ball, a former senior explosive ordnance technician for the U.S. Army who reviewed the footage for CNN.
