This week there are reports of two books and one Hollywood movie that are very critical of former President Donald Trump. First came reports of the discredited Christopher Steele (of Steele Dossier fame) and his new book Unredacted: Russia, Trump, and the Fight for Democracy, which claims that in 2020 Russian military intelligence had a plan to kidnap American citizens in Syria or Iraq so that Trump could successfully negotiate their release in a way to boost his chances for reelection.
Then there were reports that the book, War by Bob Woodward will be released on Oct. 15, according to publisher Simon & Schuster. According to CNN, the Woodward book’s main criticism of Trump is that he is able to work with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Woodward, Trump had as many as seven phone conversations with Putin after Trump left the White House. During the pandemic Trump sent a COVID testing kit as a personal gift to Putin. Woodward reports that according to a former intelligence analyst who specialized in Russian affairs, Trump idolized Putin, making Trump vulnerable to manipulation.
