Turkish and British Foreign Ministers Meet in London

Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan travelled to London, where he met on Oct. 30 with British Foreign Secretary David Lammy and other officials. “Türkiye and the U.K. have been benefitting from the strategic relations. Our aim is to increase it,” Fidan is quoted as saying by the Hürriyet Daily News. Lammy, in turn, called bilateral ties “indispensable.”

The two countries have military and industrial cooperation agreements, and the foreign ministers discussed the possibility of Türkiye buying 40 Eurofighters. Britain is a member of the consortium along with Germany and Spain.

They also discussed the Ukrainian and Southwest Asia conflicts, according to reports.
