Russia’s purported motivation for allegedly bringing in North Korean troops to fight alongside Russian troops is that Russia is “desperate” for cannon fodder. The Pentagon claims that Russia has suffered 600,000 casualties in nearly three years of war, but publicly available evidence shows that it is Ukraine that is suffering huge manpower problems and has been recruiting foreigners to fight for it since the beginning. There are several recent indications of the Kiev regime’s problems in this regard.
Verkhovna Rada Deputy Anna Skorokhod admitted in an interview with Novosti Live this morning that the cases of desertion and unauthorized abandonment of the unit in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine surpasses 100,000. “Unauthorized abandonment of the unit, desertion—I will not name the number, but I would say—more than 100,000,” she was quoted by TASS as saying.
Earlier, TASS reports, military lawyer from the Center for Support of Veterans and Their Families Roman Likhachev said that more than 100,000 servicemen of the UAF had voluntarily left their units. On Oct. 29, president of Ukraine’s Supreme Court Stanislav Kravchenko announced a significant increase in desertion cases by Ukrainian troops, calling the situation threatening. According to Ukrainian media estimates, the total number of deserters has already reached 170,000. The TASS report doesn’t even mention draft dodgers, hiding both inside Ukraine and in Europe, probably numbering in the hundreds of thousands.
