It took British Prime Minister Keir Starmer only three months to accomplish the largest post-election drop in approval rating of any British prime minister in modern history, according to a recent poll. Starmer is now more unpopular than his predecessor Rishi Sunak, who resigned in July, and who, at the time, had made Starmer look good in comparison.
The More in Common survey involved 1,012 adults. The surveyors take the amount of “good” and “somewhat good” ratings and subtract the “bad” and “somewhat bad” ratings. Starmer’s approval rating has plummeted from a post-election high of +11 to a dismal low of −38. This 49-point drop in approval is “unprecedented” in modern history, according to Luke Tryl, the director of More in Common.
