Uzbekistan Accepts Afghanistan Ambassador, Foresees Growing Economic Benefits Ahead

Afghan diplomat Abdul Ghafar Bahr presented his credentials as his nation’s ambassador to Uzbekistan, to Uzbek Foreign Minister Bakhtiyour Saidov in Tashkent on Oct. 9. Although no nation has yet officially recognized the Taliban government of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, Uzbekistan is now the third nation to formally recognize an ambassador from Kabul, after China and the United Arab Emirates.

Following the official presentation, Minister Saidov posted on X that “Our countries share a common history and interests of prosperity that serve as an impetus for the development of cooperation ties in all areas. We also discussed the acute topics on bilateral, regional, and global agendas.”
