BRICS Members and Partners Discuss Cooperation on Sidelines of G20 in Rio

BRICS members and newly-invited partner nations held meetings on economic and political cooperation on the sidelines of the G20 Leaders summit meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Nov. 18-19.

New BRICS member Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi met with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu, whose country has been nominated to become a BRICS partner nation. They discussed ways the two nations could strengthen their economic cooperation. The discussions focused on cooperation in trade, investment, healthcare, and exchanging expertise in counterterrorism and extremism, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency, reported Cairo daily Al-Ahram.
