China's Intense Diplomacy in Ibero- America Contributes to World Stability

In its Nov. 22 editorial, on President Xi Jinping’s intense diplomacy at the Nov. 15-15 APEC summit in Lima, Peru and the Nov. 18-19 G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, China’s semiofficial Global Times asserted that “China’s Diplomacy Injects Precious Certainty into the World.” Xi’s unprecedented bilateral meetings in both locations was such, Global Times noted, that even the New York Times had to take note of it in its Nov. 20 article, “World Leaders Seek Stability with China as Biden Exits the Stage.” Additional “public opinion” described China as a major developing country that embraces the spirit of “‘working together for the world,’ which has contributed Chinese wisdom and solutions to world peace….”

At a time of global uncertainty, the daily asserts, China’s initiatives “resonate with the development concepts of an increasing number of countries, adding precious certainty to the world. China is like the anchor of stability for a giant ship—this has been proven by China’s diplomatic practices over the past 10 years and has become the key of China’s diplomacy to winning people’s hearts.” Of note, it adds, is the “consistency between policy formulation and actual implementation,” and many world leaders have mentioned “that they hope to align their national development strategies with China’s development plans.”
