Colonel Macgregor Argues, Time for U.S. To Dump Failed Policy of Sanctions and Bullying Other Nations

The policy of sanctioning, bullying and threatening other nations has proven to be a total failure and must be replaced with something entirely different, retired Col. Douglas Macgregor argued strenuously in an after-the-election interview with his Our Country, Our Choice movement on Nov. 8. He pointed to Russia and China as the biggest example of the failure of such policies. He pointed to the case of all the talk of saying the U.S. is going to punish China. Just how are we going to do that, when China’s exports to the Global South were reported just this past March to be $1.6 trillion a year, a figure which is four times China’s exports to the U.S., and more than their exports to the U.S., Europe and Japan combined?

We set out to punish Russia. By doing so, “we are responsible for the deaths of at least 600,000 Ukrainian soldiers, and probably 1.2-1.5 million wounded,” and the destruction of the nation of the nation of Ukraine, while Russia, whose goal in Ukraine was only to the defend the Russian-speaking population, not to conquer Eastern Europe, has profited.
