A declaration to triple the installed capacity of nuclear power to 20,000 MW by 2050 gained new support at the COP29 conference now taking place over Nov. 11-22 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The Declaration was initially signed at the UN Climate Summit COP28 in Dubai last year, according to Hürriyet Daily News. There are now 31 signatories with more expected to sign it. On Nov. 13, the World Nuclear Association said in a statement that six more countries have endorsed the Declaration.
Among the signers are, Türkiye, El Salvador, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Nigeria, Armenia, Bulgaria, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Ghana, Hungary, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Moldova, Mongolia, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom and the United States.
