The pro-war German government has imploded. In a press conference in the evening of Nov. 6, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that he had fired Finance Minister Christian Lindner (FDP) and that there will be early elections. Scholz will now attempt to have Parliament pass a whole set of measures before Christmas, to then go through the formal procedure of a parliamentary non-confidence vote on January 15 and set a date for early elections, which will take place by March 2025, seven months before the regular date.

Whether Scholz succeeds in getting a majority in Parliament to pass his set of legislations is not sure.
