German Defense Minister Says We Have No Intention of Sending Long-Range Missiles to Ukraine

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, who has been on record pushing for Germany to send their long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, was asked today about sending them. Of some note, he stated that Berlin has no intention of doing so, and the reported decision by Washington “doesn’t change our assessment at the moment.” Currently there is “no reason to make a different decision.” Chancellor Olaf Scholz had made his opposition to sending the Taurus missiles to Ukraine very clear in a Bundestag speech as early as March this year.
