An alliance of think tanks and other organizations across the Global South was officially launched on Nov. 14 in Nanjing, China, at the Second Global South Think Tanks Dialogue. The event expressed clearly the new spirit taking hold amongst nations of the Global South.
According to China Daily, President Xi Jinping had proposed the establishment of such an alliance at the Oct. 22-24 BRICS Summit in in Russia. Political leaders, academics, and representatives of think tanks from more than 100 nations attended the event titled “Global South: Equality, Openness, and Cooperation.”
