Kovalchuk Appointed to Key Post in Marine Board

Nikolai Patrushev, the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation and head of the Maritime Board, has created a Scientific and Expert Council under the Board, which will be chaired by Mikhail Kovalchuk, the president of the Kurchatov Institute. In a meeting with Kovalchuk, one of the main topics was the issue of “Marine Materials Science and Nuclear Energy.” The participants also noted the importance of future research in the field of nuclear energy in shipbuilding and modern approaches to the development of shipbuilding materials.
