Nigerian President Orders Release of All Detained Protesters

On Nov. 5 Nigerian President Bola Tinubu ordered the release of all those detained for participating in mass anti-government protests, according to the local media cited by Sputnik. This included 114 people, including some 70 minors who were released earlier.

Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima explained the President’s move as “humanitarian in nature, despite the overwhelming evidence of their involvement” in the unrest.
